Hello my friends!!!

So many things have been happening, it is difficult to keep up with all of it!!!  I’ve been making new friends and having fun with old friends.  Musically I’m starting to go beyond my comfort zone, which is a GOOD THING because it shows me I’m on the right path.  Mastin Kipp says, “Fear is a compass showing you the way into the unknown.”  So if I’m feeling nervous or even mild stage fright, it’s a sign I need to keep doing what I’m doing and get better at it.

I really really love to dj.  It’s a little ridiculous how much I love it.  The more I practice, and the more I play out, the more I love it.  It is so much fun to work on music and put a set together, then get to the gig and then decide whether I want to stay on my roadmap or dive into the unknown.  I love being in control of the music I’m playing, and how it’s being played, and where I play it.  It’s such an honor to be able to perform with my violin, and really start to dive into my feelings and expression.

So first I want to thank Adia Break , Joey Animals, and the Future Wednesday Crew for inviting me to come play at Future Wednesdays this past week, on March 26th.  It marked a red letter day for me, because it was the first time I didn’t open the night.  I like opening!!!  It’s definitely a safe spot;  I get a bunch of time to set up, I get to soundcheck my violin.  However it was really fun to play later in the evening, and get to dance for a couple hours beforehand.  My good friend Cy came and set up the recorder too, so very soon there will be a link to the set, with violin included, for my set a few days ago.  It will be the first time I haven’t gone back and re-recorded the violin part over the mix, so we will get to hear what happens in the moment.  I think I will send it to Simon Shackleton, because after playing a bunch of techno and minimal techno, I dropped one of his RMVPD (revamps) from his breaks days.  I was laughing so hard about turning that corner, and diving into that world for 5 minutes.   And I got to play along side my fellow lovely lady Dj Ashley DeVore;  she killed it!!!

What is next???  Well this coming Friday, we’ve got another S.H.A.F.T. Night at the Kava Lounge;  Almost Poncho S.H.A.F.T. Night.  The Facebook event page is HERE!!!!  We’ve got ME opening (hooray!!), then Adia Break Vs. Poptart, and the Pajama Hamsters.  It will be silly amounts of fun, $5 all night, you come dance!!!!

Then, because I am a professional party monster, I’m hopping in my car and going to an event put on my very good friends at Simpler Times, Terrakroma, and Electronarcosis called Lotus Festival.  This is a double whammy, as the Spring Freakuency Festival will be going on at the same time.  Find out more information and get your tickets HERE!!!!

I may or may not dress up like a Lady Bug or a Lion at some point during the weekend.

One of my new favorite people is Joe Pea, a fellow professional party monster.  I’m very excited to be playing at Dance Klassique at Bar Dynamite on April 16th.  I am really looking forward to putting together a beautiful house set for that night.  The sound in Bar Dynamite is AMAZING and there’s a huge red dragon on the wall, and the drink menu has something with Cranberry in it on the wall.  It’s like my home away from Kava home!!!  They throw weekly shows Wednesday nights, and I’m hoping to make it out to dance a couple times between now and then.

So much amaze, in so little time!!!

O Golley, then when we get back from Electric Poncho we’ll have another S.H.A.F.T Night, then some more Techno, and I’ll get to play at the cd release party for Danyavaad at the end of May at the Firegarden.  Then I’m djing at the next NOSH CANNONBALL Festival.  Probably another S.H.A.F.T. night will happen before then.  More events will happen I don’t even know about yet!!!  There’s birthdays and secret things I can’t even talk about!!!  I’ll build a robot!!!  But let’s just stop here in the narration;  there’s so much more to come, and everything on the horizon really deserves it’s own Cranbloggy.
