San Diego Musical Magic on Friday the 13th!!!

Greetings and Salutations!!!

I am so excited for this coming Friday the 13th of November!!!  We are in for so many treats in San Diego!!!

First up, Circus Mafia is presenting a Speakeasy at Queen Bee’s Art and Cultural Center!  A night filled with mayhem and a Murder Mystery!!!  I wonder if it will be solved by the end of the night!!!

Trio Gadjo will be playing at the beginning and through out the event;  they’re so amazing!!!  (I sat in with them once, and I felt like I was going to spin off into space because they play so fast!)

I’ve put together a really fun Electro Swing set that I KNOW will make the circus peeps go bananas.  I’ll be closing the night out.  It will be so much fun!!!  For more information and Ticket information, please check out the  event page HERE

But wait!!!  There’s more!!!

My hero, Simon Shackleton, aka Elite Force, will be playing in San Diego for one night only!!!  It’s been over a year since he was last in the area, and it’s been TOO LONG since I’ve heard him play live!  He continues to inspire and uplift through his music, and also has started a photography business as well.  And he’s so NICE!!!

So I’ll be heading out FOR MORE DANCING after the Speakeasy, and I’ll even be wearing my fancy new dress.

I hope to see ya’ll there!  For more information, please check out the event page right HERE!!

Also, I must share a few more things.

Halloween was magical.  I am so thankful to Red Sonya and Alien Tom for including me in the festivities.  We had so much fun!!!

And then, last week I got the most amazing opportunity to play violin at the Museum of Art in Balboa Park.  If you love music, you should go see the History of Music Art exhibit.  Everything from ancient sculptures to modern paintings and exhibits fill the hall.  There are live art installations which only play at certain times.

Seeing the beautiful Museum of Art lit up from the inside, and filled with happy people and cupcakes and a silent disco (and a not so silent disco!), just off the main veranda was so powerful!!

Then, a couple hours after the event started, I took a few minutes break to walk through the art exhibit.

There’s a sketch drawing of Beethoven.

When I saw Beethoven, it really moved me.  His impact on music changed everything for hundreds of years.  Beethoven would have REALLY loved techno.

After I saw the picture, I went back to the stage and continued to play the violin, along with Dj Scott Roberts and Drummer John.

When I perform I am often moved by the experience, and don’t really know how to share what goes through my mind.  This time I imagined people dancing in their paintings like the teachers in the paintings in Harry Potter.   All of the great artists and composers and dancers and gods and goddesses through the ages were all dancing!!!

And then there’s more!

This last weekend was a memorial celebration for my best friend Preston.  I still miss him everyday.  I thought about going, because it would have been great to connect with everyone.  I enjoy seeing everyone grow on their different paths.  However, I was tired.  I needed to recharge.  I thought about it, and one lesson I learned from Preston is the importance of recharging.  He would have wanted me to stay home, and remember him with our friends on a different day.

Preston would have understood that I played violin for Beethoven, and that I needed to chill.

Hope to see everyone soon!

Fall is swinging, and it’s time to dance!!!
