WOW.  So the S.H.A.F.TOTECH show was beyond amazing on Friday night.  Austin Speed, we caught 5o mins and change of your set, as well as everyone else’s, recorded.  So amazing to be able to relive the night through again.

Listening through Duckberry Crunch right now, and we finally caught Karate Xplosion on record…usually we’re able to mic him, but this is the first time he was caught in the mix.  Just adding that extra little bit of percussion is really pretty fantastic. I’m pretty brave on the violin in front of all my friends, I have to say.  I didn’t really know I could do all that stuff.  All the feelings that go with it are pretty wild.  I think it’s impossible to be a musician without being critical of oneself;  it’s just part of the territory. And Duckman pretty much kills it on every mix.  There’s a lot of bass.  I can’t wait for everyone to hear this.

Ok so back to the theme of the hour…Music and Magic… discuss!!!  hahahaha  Magic is really about change and transformation of things from one state to another, and usually it is so inexplicable and indescribable people attribute it to other worldly powers.  Music can also transform people and places from one emotional state to another.  We’ve seen ALL KINDS of arguing online about this very topic.  When people hear music that moves them, they go from one emotional state to another…seemingly because of OTHERWORLDLY POWERS OF SOUND.

So what we’re doing when we get on stage and present sound to anyone who will hear, is we are using our powers combined to move ourselves through different states of mind.  We come together and dance, no matter how simple the dance form, as long as we’re not hitting each other in the face. (mostly.)
